So we can all clear the air on this here I for one am confused about the Killing Issue in KCSins.
Some say that it is open game, if two characters fight, the better one walks away, and the weaker one dies.
However others state that you must get the Typist's permission to kill off their character.
I can see the vital points of both, on one hand it is proper curtosey to get the permission of the typist.
But on the other hand if a Character is begging for death, or being suicidal, then the typist says they do not want their character killed, that means a Compromising of a character by letting the other character live.
So let's chat about this, and see if we can't all come up with a solution to this, and get it set in stone here for KCSins.

Personally I do see the a good point on both sides, but I do see more of the side that says, if a character puts themselves in a knowingly dangerous position (i.e. tormenting a master vampire as a mortal) and are simply begging to die, I see know reason why they shouldnt die, with or without the typists consent. It's rp thats supposed to minic real life, simply put. If you dont want your char to die, dont put them in harmful situations of your own accord.

I play in both types of rooms.
One is based on the idea, that: you enter our Chat forum, you signed the contract (once your character sheet is approved) that states:
You are now accepting our terms of play. And Our terms of play are: Your character can, and possibly will die within this RP. No discussing it. NO Approvals. YOU approved when you signed up.
OR...
There are the other rooms similar to KCS and the rooms I generally play in: Once your character sheet is approved. you're character -can- get dead, however with approval. BUT you realise.. 'weaker' characters CAN be harmed. PERIOD. (that is KCS)
Now I have seen GREAT RP in both types of rooms, and then lousy RP in BOTH types of rooms. However.. what happens in the latter rooms.. people become complaciant. And lax. For there is no real retribution for those 'naughty' characters. Take for example.. Sotanos and when he threatened to Kill Austin. OH.. I didn't and still don't want to loose Austin. BUT.. in the end there was no way to -not- have placed himself in the: 'I'm going to kill you' position. He yelled at his girlfriend; whos grampy happend to be the Godfather.. and he was out for blood. Lilttle stupid on a HUMAN level, but not for the Vamp.
NOW had we had rules ONE going, unless He was really fast, and really sneaky.. And Kyle had Lang pull that sword, or Sotanos pull Austins beasty.. Austin would be DEAD.
RULES TWO: ~waves Austin's hand ~ See hes still here. Moving around and causeing more trouble. OR getting people Out of it. lol
Anyway.. there are bonusus to BOTH.. ther is just a lax laid back feeling when threats can't -really- be carried out. So.. in KCS I say.. let the threats happen and fufill them up to Death. ~shrugs~ Hey.. you threaten to Chew on the chara. you better darn well be allowed to play that bit of your characters persona. I was there that night watching Amanda and the gypsy. .
LOL I was thinking: Umm.. missy Gyspy.. please stop teasing the Hyena.. she gonna bite ya. She didn't .. but it would have been interesting to see if the gypsy caught lycanthropy. As NOT every chara scratched or Bit GETS it.
Any way..............either is cool. Just realise, its hard to switch an established room over to Auto Death. I like KCS as is.

i think it varies.
like with me. i normally oocly let someone know in some situations that i dont want my character to die. only cause i want to keep her for a good amount of period. then after that, we'll see. giggles, besides. we both thought it would be interesting and FUN to have a psycho hyena besides a sociopath Hyena like Amanda giggles.
but i wont get hanger and throw a temper cause i got killed. i'll probably just make up a new character.
but i still think it depends. in some situations its good to ask permission. but in some others, well, its the players fault for getting into a situation in teh first place to be killed lol.
for instance. fighting for alphas and especialy ruler has a death penalty (well at least going for the leader is), therefore, if the judges say: your dead, your dead lol.
like i said. it just varies. but i try to respect the wishes of the player about killing off characters. it not only shows respect of a player to a player, but also an added plus to the room.
most rooms fail when they say "i dont give a shit if your character dies" lol. at least. if a character dies in here, we can say im sorry but this is why it happened and etc.

well my only thing to add is a bit of my own experience. When Destiny was bitten I remember specifically telling Chelle and Kyle over msn that I didn't care if she died. It however ended up that she didn't, wich I'm really rather happy about now since I adore the character. Even so I was still asked if I minded Des being a hyena, to wich I replied that again I didn't care. That was the point of Des when I made her. to play a straight know nothing human and see how far she gets. I have more fun that way....however now that she is established I would be grieved to see her die as I have worked really hard to get her where she is. I liked that they asked me before doing anything. It wouldn't have mattered how I answered, it was just that they were curteous enough to ask me first. I have been in some rooms that will actively kill your char and make it seem like its going against the typist. They give no consideration to the typist's thoughts or feelings on the subject, they just kill.....now if my character at the time deserved it then so be it...but more often than not people would just pick a fight because they felt like offing someone...that isn't fair to anyone in my opinion. so personally, I think it should stay as it is. Thats one of the things that kept me here after I first started RPing. its one of the things that I still value about this room and its laid back style. okay thems my 2 cents. have fun all

Thank you Erin, Garou, Kore and Trouble, those were excellent points with examples that primed through the topic at hand.
So the Ruling:
Death... will happen, maybe more often then not, however there will be guidelines to this.
1. The death of a Played Character will only occur if A. The typist agrees to it B. If the character Purposely places themselves in harms way and the typist is knowing of such. C. If the typist tempts fate against a character that is known to kill, or is making it clear that they will kill said character for doing such.
2. A Triumverate will be considered as 1 upon this, meaning if -Any- of a Triumverate purposely and directly puts themselves in harms way towards death... -All- members of that Triumverate will perish, so pick and choose your Trimverates carefully.
3. If a character is forced into a situation of death, tricked and conned into doing so, then after review if a review is needed by the Moderators here, the judgement will be voted upon, passed and overall... final, so again I say... tread dangerous waters carefully and do not tempt fate for if you knock on the Devil's door long enough... someone is bound to answer it.
Thank you, and Enjoy

So.. in the end.
Your character can expire here. I think thats fair, and puts things into perspective. Happens in real life, should happen here.
only small issue I have: If the servants of a Vamp die: Sometimes.. they can move on.. (IE: Asher )
However .. if the Vamp dies.. they ALL die. And I feel and would believe, if BOTH servants are dieing, or dead, so will the vamp.
But yes.. we accept the death of PC's here. So watch your toes.

~has had a pc die from an rp mistake~ Basically, Dont step on toes you know can hurt you as a char if that char has a place to kill you. You wouldnt taunt someone with a gun in rt would you? Just something to keep in mind

Ok, wonderful points again, so to revise:
So the Ruling:
Death... will happen, maybe more often then not, however there will be guidelines to this.

2. A Triumverate will be considered as 1 upon this, meaning if -Any- of a Triumverate purposely and directly puts themselves in harms way towards death... -All- members of that Triumverate will perish the only exception we will take is that the Vampire may survive if the situation warrents such, so pick and choose your Trimverates carefully.
