Celebrity Used: Aishwarya Rai
Ghost Tag: ----Mysteries Untold----
Name: Isis Malefic
Age: 28
Height: Five foot six
Weight: 135
Eyes: Amber
Hair: Black
Place of birth: A small agricultural village off the Nile Delta.
Where they once resided: New Orleans
Where they now reside: No set place as yet.
Relatives: Unknown
Demeanor: Eccentric and wise, faithful to Sekhmet and the ways of beauty veiled.
Job-Or lackthereof: Priestess of the Eye
Powers: Isis is a recognized Priestess of the Goddess Sekhmet. There are rituals that base somewhat of the Sun-given powers of the Patron Goddess, as well as a small retinue of spells of both destructive and nurturing schools.
Sun Disc Rejuvenation: By drawing on the power of the Mother Lioness, this ritual affords the target a lessening of pain, as well giving a slight boost to the target's healing rate. Bruises and minor cuts are healed fully within a day, while more grevious wounds would require further exposure to the ritual or more institutionalized proper medical care. The ritual's duration is one full cycle of the sun, dawn to dawn, dusk to dusk, etcetera. Also, the ritual causes the skin of the target to be warm to the touch, as if having been sunbathing. (Requires one full post)
Essence of Sekhmet: This ritual is performed at daylight's first cresting. When performed, it requires the skin of a werelion, but also grants a heightened dexterity, giving the caster a higher grasp of grace, balance and fluidity. There are physical changes, as the character targeted by this ritual appears significantly more toned, lithe even, and has a bronzed hue to their skin. Dependant on the skin worn, the caster of the ritual may take the shape of the skin, either the full-lion or half-lion (war form). This ritual lasts until one hour before the next day begins. (requires two full posts)
Spells: (these require two actions)
Sekhmet's Drunken Calm: As the legends state, it took causing the Goddess to become too drunk to fight to save Ra's people. To calm the aggression, and yet to create a state of inebriation. While this spell is in effect, it's duration being six hours, anyone to come within five feet of Isis feels a slight calm wash through them, Through skin to skin contact, the target of this spell becomes calm to the core of their soul.
Other abilities: Creation of charms that if worn by a true believer, are rumored to bring: grace, beauty, calm, love, fear, healing, general blessing.
History: Isis was raised on the lush lands that rest on the banks of the Nile. Her mother was a worshipper of Sekhmet, and passed on knowledge of the avenging Fertile Goddess to her daughter.
As she grew older, she was tutored by other worshippers, and came to join the order of priestesses devoting their lives to spreading knowledge and wisdom to all women who would hear it.
Having moved to New Orleans, and spending a great deal of time immersed in the politics there, between the Master of the City and the rather jealous and territorial Voudon practitioners, she had to find somewhere else to live. She had been drawn here by the request of a small group of witches of relatively low import, to teach them of Sekhmet and of true magic's ways.
Isis Malefic is very strict in her method of dress and in her worship. Five times a day she can be found praying, and she is a believer that the proper method of dress is that of concealing ones' flesh. As such, she is always found to be wearing the abaya, a robelike covering garment that hides from neck to feet, and the burqa, a headdress that covers the face in a gridlike fabric giving the amateur wearer a difficulty in sight. Having been raised wearing such garments, however, Isis is familiar in the methods of perception within, and has no troubles while dressed so.
There is a history of friendly interaction with lycanthropes for Isis, amongst her greatest friends of that ilk being a werelion who was a nomadic Priest of Sekhmet. He had returned too late for her debut as a fully trained Priestess adept, and as such, had sent her an invitation to his personal home for a private party. The "party" turned out to be just himself and her. Several hours after her arrival, she was finishing with the harvest of her "gift", to her shock and a serious toll on her willpower it had turned out that he was giving a greater sacrifice to the followers of Sekhmet than she'd encountered, his very skin. He had, before her eyes, changed his shape to that of the lion headed and rather massive war-form. It was this form she skinned, with as much care and gentle nature as she, the mild mannered yet passionate Priestess could muster. Her friend had attendants, and it was these attendants who came to recieve the skin, and tend their employer. He would be a long time healing, to all her knowledge. She was bidden to spend the next weeks at his home, trading knowledge, company and such, while the skin was prepared and fashioned without harm to it into a rough abaya which she could wear beneath her outer coverings. She did not fathom it's use, yet she was instructed by him in such as well. All told, she spent the space of three months with him, learning more of the ways of the lycanthropes, and spending proper devotions with him to the Eye of Ra. After such times, they parted ways as friends and somewhat lovers, and it was after such she traced the lines of the lions of North America, finding herself travelling across the country in search of a Pride to care for, rare as they are.
The power of the sun is such that it burns through the air like an invisible fire. A servant of Sekhmet weilds in varying degrees according to favor and faith a measure of a more tangible and visible flame. Conjured as any other spell is, through the channelling of energies and a spoken component, Isis produces flame which she may control by hand gestures. The force of this flame depends on a key turn of phrase in the spoken component, and once conjured, reacts the same as any other regular flame.
Isis was not always proficient in the use of this flame, and there are times when she is "cut off" from it's use. In times when she is most agitated or upset the flame is easier to conjure but harder to control. Such a deadly and devastating force requires her attention and concentration unless the intent is abstract destruction.
Edit:
There are laws to such things as manipulating the physical. Once the flames are conjured they are for all purposes and in all reality, true and real flames. Their level of damage, the amount of carnage that could ensue depends on one thing alone. Time.
For the purposes of rp mechanics, I will give two factors which will contribute to the end-damage result.
1. Amount of energy/concentration put into the effect.
2. The type of material being burned.
A loose scale of this:
a. One action of concentration would be required to burn a pile of newspapers.
b. Two actions of concentration would be required to burn wet objects.
c. Three actions would be required to burn larger inanimate objects of less flammable material.
d. Four actions of preparation would be required to feed enough flame to burn a person to disablement.
e. Five actions (a full combat style post as it is my understanding) would be the requirement to completely incinerate a person or severely damage a supposedly non-flammable object.
Repeated posts would deal more serious damage, or span more distance.
I will endeavor, as I've always considered pyrokinetics to be an overplayed and under-thought out power, to keep to a realm of danger-play. This means I realize that I will need to take into effect in my posts a variety of details, should it ever come to a point where the extremes of this style of power be taken, and that I am fully aware a "No really Kizzie that's too much" given in PM or on messenger will help me, not be overly criticizing.
