Pilar hasn't had any luck in finding Franco. She hadnt thought she would. He will hide from her until he finally goes for whatever it is he wants. Her hatred burns like a brand upon her flesh.
She takes care in sending everything to Kevin. She could have gone to look him up, but she hasnt seen him in two years, and its doubtful he was too thrilled at her going to Columbia for the long periods she does. But, she wouldnt really know where else to turn. She only trusts him or Siarna, and this has to do with her best friend.
The manilla envelope arrives addressed to him. The return address would be Siarna's house, since Pilar has never truly gotten a place of her own. Not in the States. She isnt necessarily a wanderer, for she has a place in Columbia. But, she isnt comfortable in the States. Perhaps someday when she feels her past is laid to rest.
Within the envelope itself, there are pictures. Clear pictures taken of each of the twelve notes sent to Siarna. Some has what looks to be blood on them. Some of Siarna's hair taped to the letters. Every single one are threats, but are left unsigned.
But, it is the final two pictures that perhaps clears things up some. They arent addressed to Siarna, but to Pilar herself. The first is a letter supposedly written by Siarna, begging Pilar to return home. It makes no mention that Pilar had just been home about 4 months prior, and if Kevin has been keeping up with the girls he had mentored, he knows that Pilar was. The next letter has more of Siarna's hair taped to it, and the words "I can take her any time I want. Franco" written boldly across the page.
Now, Pilar is never one to ask for help unless she truly thinks she needs it. She is a proud woman. Her abrasive attitude normally keeps many from ever getting to know her. But, she has sent this as a bid to ask for help, leaving it up to Kevin whether he thinks she needs it.
She has only sent the pictures, not the originals. Her own investigative skills keeping her from doing more. She more than likely has the originals locked up to where even Siarna cant get to them. But, as usual, when it comes to Siarna's safety, she takes charge.
